The inspiration behind this video: Reynolds is not allowed to improvise lines for the movie because of the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. The WGA is striking for better working conditions for writers, which include a focus on new streaming residuals rules and combating the use of AI to replace writers on scripts. As one of Deadpool 3’s writers, Reynolds improvising lines would be considered a breach of the strike’s rules. Reynolds is a big force behind the Deadpool movies, with his characteristic brand of humor being a perfect fit with the character’s, which is why the R-rated franchise became so popular in the first place. Deadpool 3 not being able to feature the actor’s spontaneity during filming is a big miss for the movie, as that aspect has been pointed out multiple times in the past as being one of the key factors that led to some of the Deadpool movies’ funniest moments.
